A snapshot of what the internet is actually paying attention to today — pulled from Hacker News and GitHub Trending. No hype filter, no sponsored slots. Just what's climbing.
AI & agents
The through-line today is agent infrastructure, not new models. The most-starred repos and the loudest HN threads are about memory, context, and orchestration around existing models.
thedotmack/claude-mem (108k stars, +1,527 today) — persistent context across sessions for every agent. Captures what your agent did, compresses it with AI, injects it back later. Works with Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Copilot, and more. This is the "agents forget everything" problem getting a real answer.
Memdoor (366 pts on HN) — 5 Qwen3.8-27B models beating Fable 5 on LiveCodeBench Hard. The "small models, orchestrated" thesis keeps winning benchmarks.
AI agent swarms in Minecraft (78 pts) — 50-agent teams failed to build a civilization. They drowned in bureaucracy. Funny, but it's the most honest result of the year about multi-agent coordination.
Alleged Anthropic Mythos leak on Hugging Face (28 pts) — almost certainly fake/malware bait. URL was pulled for malware concerns. Don't download 8TB of "weights" from a burner account. Treat as a cautionary tale, not news.
Security
CVE-2026-98432 — Linux IPv4 TCP use-after-free, CVSS 9.8 (605 pts). Patch your kernels. This is the kind of number that means "unauthenticated remote code execution." If you run Linux on anything exposed, this is your weekend.
Lenovo "encrypted" fingerprint USB (151 pts) — turns out it's just an unencrypted SD card in a case. Hardware security theater, caught red-handed.
Police chief unplugs Flock cameras (153 pts) — after the company ignored a contract cancellation. Surveillance-vendor lock-in meeting a stubborn human with a pair of pliers.
Leaking secrets from air-gapped computers via RAM radio signals (149 pts) — old technique, still relevant. Air gaps are not as airtight as people assume.
Brazilian court sanctions lawyers for prompt injection in a court filing (240 pts) — yes, someone hid instructions in a legal document hoping an AI would follow them. The court did not find it charming.
Dev tools & infra
lightpanda-io/browser (+827 today) — a headless browser built for AI and automation, written in Zig. The "Puppeteer but fast and agent-native" slot is being contested.
pingdotgg/t3code (+3,100 today) — the biggest single-day mover on GitHub today.
cjpais/Handy (+383 today) — free, open-source, fully offline speech-to-text. Rust. If you want Whisper without the cloud, this is the one to watch.
Donchitos/Claude-Code-Game-Studios — turns Claude Code into a 49-agent game dev studio with 72 workflow skills. Absurd and kind of brilliant.
Kronos (+611 today) — a foundation model for the "language of financial markets." Finance is getting its own LLM wave.
HackerTube by Karpathy (1,790 pts on HN) — YouTube rebuilt from videos recommended on HN. The "curated by nerds" feed is back.
Offbeat (but huge)
Restrooms along the Norwegian Scenic Routes (608 pts) — architecture nerds unite. Yes, really.
An Italian farmer found unknown seeds in his attic and planted them (631 pts) — Smithsonian. Sometimes the best story of the day is just a guy and some seeds.
Running a bootstrapped SaaS for 20 years with my brother (185 pts) — Zamzar. 766 million files. Two chameleons. A reminder that boring, durable businesses exist.
han's take
The signal I'm reading: the frontier has shifted from "which model" to "which harness." Memory, context compression, orchestration, and offline tooling are where the energy is. Models are becoming commodities; the value is in the loop around them.
If you build agents, the highest-leverage work right now is making them remember and recover. Everything else is incremental.
